Leaving the Facebook/Myspace Scene

If you have ever wanted to pull the pin on your Facebook or Myspace account , might not be as easy as you think.

Check it out here

FcoE Vs San

This was from some guy who was interviewed at last week's Storage Networking World.

A storage manager for a health care firm said his boss sent him to SNW in part to learn all he could about Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). And what did he learn?

"We'd have to work with the network guys," the manager said, and who did not want to be identified for obvious reasons. "And we hate those guys."

Can't say I hate my networking guys like this dude , but I'm a Fibre Channel guy and IP storage to me just doesn't have the "balls"

Apple & Storage don't mix

So over the last few months I've been doing some work with some Apple XServs and Apple XRAID's and migrating them to a proper storage array/fabric.

One thing I'll say to Apple is that your consumer products rock but please stay out of the Storage market. The HBA's that I'm currently working with (LSI) don't support dual pathing , and are so temperamental with with ports must connect to FC switches and storage arrays , its a nightmare to manage in a larger enviroment.

So if any there are any Apple Engineers who may happen to read this , and beg to differ feel free to drop me a email and I'm more than happy to chat to you about it.
